THE DOMINION'S CREDIT.
When any man on tne Opposition side in politics in this, "God's Own Country," as it were, dares to suggest that the money spent the Hutt Railway, or the Dreadnought, or Defence, or anything else, might be better employed, he is immediately howled down as one who is endeavouring to "ruin tne credit of the countrv." This is a specious device of the Prime Minister to avoid criticism and draw a herring across the scent. Ruining the credit of the con ntry, forsooth! Why, the country' s .credit has ibeen sinking lower and lower •eVer\-' l s : in(fie' , -''the' borrowing and squandering policy ; was initiated And it will, continue to .sink until a clieck is put upon the extravagances of a place-seeking party.,,.
