PROPOSED AGRICULTURAL SCHOOL
:—o . COUNTY COUNCIL SYMPATHETIC. In connection with the proposed establishment of an. agricultural, school in the .Wairarapa, the. secretary of the. Wellington Education Board wrote to the Masterton Cbtiiity Council yesterday, stating tliat it hji-.l been arranged to hold a conference of agricultural and other bodies ii:t?rested in the Masterton A. and •ir* Association- rooms on Saturday, October 21st, and asking the Council, to .appoint delegates to attend that conference, so that, if thought necessary,/ representation might be made in the proper qiiarter before Parliament rises. «" Cr Welch said this was a. very im-'-portant matter for the Wairarapa district. It deserved the support of the whole of me local bodies. Unfortunately they could not assist the matter financially. There were other ways, however, in which they might help. An agricultural school for the Wairarapa would be of great value to the whole of the. fanners of the district. The project was deserving of the syimpatny and support of the Council. He moved that Crs Cameron and Beetham :be 'appointed delegates to the conference. . The motion was seconded by Cr Kebbell and carried.
