WEDDING BELLS

STEVENS—WILTON. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at the residence of the bride's parents at Rangitumau, when Laura Evelyn (Eva), eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Wilton, was married to Walter Joseph, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Stevens, of Carterton. The bride, who was given away by her father, was becomingly attired in "champagne" silk, and wore the usual veil and orange blossoms, with a bouquet of snowbush and camelias. There were two bridesmaids, Ivy and Kathleen, sisters to the 'bride, who were dressed in light blue silk, with hats to match, and carried bouquets of primroses and ferns. Mr Phil Andrews was best-man, and Mr W. Mansfield junr. groomsman. The Rev. Mr Serpell, Methodist Minister, Masterton, was the officiating minister. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a handsome-gold bangle, and to the bridesmaids gold brooches. After the ceremony a reception was held, when a large number of guests were entertained, and a social evening was held later at the Rangitumau hall. Some fifty friends of the bride entertained her at a parcel evening at Rangitumau on Monday. Mr and Mrs Stevens, who received many useful presents, will reside in Carterton.
