The Prime Minister has resigned, and Mr Scaddon has been sent for. A caucus of the Labour Party will elect a Cabinet on Saturday.
WRECKED STEAMERS
VERY LITTLE SALVAGE,

The Underwriters' Association has received advice that there will be no salvage, either on the hull or cargo, from the steamer Papanui. There will probably be a small salvage from the steamer Fifeshire.
MONOPLANE ACCIDENT.
A NARROW ESCAPE

ADELAIDE, October 5,
Mr Watkins, with an (assistant named Wild, made another aerial flight this morning. As the monoplane touched the ground, it turned a somersault. Watkins and Wild were pinned beneath it, but escaped with bruises. The monoplane was badly smashed .

(Received October 5, 10.20 a.m.) LONDON, October 4. At the wool sales .prices were unchanged. Scoured and faulty wools met with an irregular sale. The following are the prices realised at the sales for the fleece portion of the clips naemd:—"Beaumont," top price, 14d, average ll£d ; "Opau," lOd andOd; "Waihi," 8d; "Braemar," 19d andl7id ~ ■■, The dates of the sales for next vear have been fixed for 16th January, sth March; 13th April. 9 th July, 24th September, and 25th November.
