Y.M.C.A. GYMNASTIC DISPLAY.
A BRILLIANT SUCCESS.
Possibly the best gymnastic and I physical culture display ever made j in the Wairarapa was witnessed by an exceptionally large audience in the Town Hall, Masterton, last evem ing. During the winter the Y.M.C.A. have been successful in maintaining a large attendance at the gymnastc classes, and their efforts to develop and. strengthen , the... members have been well rewarded. The items on the programme at last evening's entertainment were enthusiastically received by those present. At the. beginning of the entertainment the younger performers showed , signs of nervousness, but - as time proceeded this wore off. The opening Grand March and Running Maze was .given by the combined/ cla.s:ve», and reflected credit on the instructor's.!. The rest of the programme included breathing exercises, parallel bars', cliubs, vaulting horse, musical bells, muscular .posing tableaux, mat •work and set pieces. Humorous ele-, ments were supplied by Professors; Rekrap and HawsL During an interval Dr Prior, President of the Y.M.C.A., on behalf of tli# Associatran, thanked all who had* attended, also those who had worked;' unceasingly to bring the display tof tlie high standard it had achieved.";, Ho made .peoial mention of the goocK work done\ by Mess-re R. 0. Jar-| rett, A, Williams, . C. Ibetsoh, < and* Misses Hodge, G. Church, and 1 F.'; Miller, and made small presentations' to Mr Wiliiaimis, Misses Hodge and!
