MAURICEVILLE COUNTY COUNCIL.
MONTHLY MEETING.
The usual (monthly meeting of the Council was held on Saturday, the 30th iSoptomlber. Present, — Ors. F. W. H. Kunvmor (chairman), 0. Isukson, B. lledevsen, and H. J. Da.gg. The. secretary to the N.Z. Comities Association wrote directing attention to a resolution passed at the late Conference, advising that pledges to assist in getting a Local Government Bill introduced next session be obtained from candidates for seats in Parliament.
D. Christie wrote re cleaning water table at the upper end c-f iMangatainoka Valley 'Road.
Messrs Escott and ißloberts .urged the erection of a small foot bridge on JVLangatainoka Valley road to enable children to 'get to the Putara School. iM;r 'Escott defined permission to erect telephone po.sts on. the roads. Tliis will 'be. done, .provided the usual conditions are complied -with. The Secretary of the Bast-well Committee wrote, drawing the Council's attention to a blocked drain at the isehool frontage, causing storm Water to flood the school path. It was arranged that Cr Isakson visit tdite Mlangatainoka Valley road, and deal with the requests of the settlers as he deems advisable.

The next meeting will be held on 28th October, arid will ,be the last •meeting prior to the tri-ennial election of Councillors.
