WAIRARAPA HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.
ORDINARY MEETING
The ordinary meeting of tine W«rirarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held in the County Council offices yesterday, there toeing present, —Messrs E. O. Eton (chairman), J. C Ewingtou, D. J. Cameron, H. Cornelius, S. Bolton, A. D. McLeod, W. W. McCardle, R. Beetiham. J. W. Murray, H. Morrison, Ct. Bemir ett, R. C* Welch and W. Fisher. Apologies, for absence, were received from Messrs M. J. H. Jackson, A. J. Speedy and W. Moore.
TREASURER'S REPORT.
The Treasurer reported receipts for the imonth, including .(balance from last meeting, amounting to £2922 16a Bd. Expenditure for month amounted to £431 19s 2d. The balance at date was shown as £2490 17s 6d, th*» distribution of balance® being as (follows: Ordinary maintenance account, £897 8® 9d; capital fund account, £I3OO 17s lid; Martiniborough ambulance fund account, £192 OLs. lid; St. Jolin Ambulance fund account, £lO.
FINANCE COMMITTEE.
The minutes' of meetings l of Finance Committee (already published) were read. i
Mr Benroett objected to the adoptfoivof tflie minutes, which he 6it<ated were mot «i report. He moved that the minutes be referred to the Finance Committee for a report.
Mr McLeod seconded the resolution of Mr Bennett.
After some the resolution was lost on the voices, and a motion for the adoption of the minutes as a. report was carried.
CORRESPONDENCE
Letters' wiere read from Cue Pahiatua Borough Council and Featherston, Town Bioard, agreeing to contribute t> the salaries of Sanitary Inspectors Cairns and Miller.— (Received.
The Martiiiborough [Ambulance Committee forwarded a Remittance, and the names of the Committee.— Received.
Messrs Atkins> and Bacon, architects, forwarded the contract for the erection of the Buchanan. Hoime for signature.— It was decided that the seal of the Board be attached to the contract.
REPRESENTATION
A letter was read from tlie Inspec-tor-General, intimating the date for ai'j election, of members of the Board, and asking for.. an opinion as to representation.
Mr McLeod thought the representation as between the Feat her stpu County Council and the' two Town Boards was at present unsatisfactory. He moved, that it .be a recommendation, that two members be allotted to the Featherston County and one to the Featherston and Martinborough Town Boards combined. The motion was seconded by Mr Bennett and earned.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES
The reports from the various hospitals' in. the district were received. The chairman commented upon the fact that the patients' fees from the Mastertou Hospital were well up to the estimate. The isame remark applied to tlhte Pab'iatua and Wairarapa iSoutli Committees! The reports, the
Oiairman said, were all satisfactory. INSPECTORS' REPORTS. Inspectors Cairns and Miller reported on the cases dealt with since the last meeting. ACCOUNTS. Accounts were passed for payment ai 'follows: — Capital account, £506 160 8d; 'maintenance account, £704 os; .general account, £156 3s; total, £1387 4s Bel.
