TRAINING OF NURSES.
DR VALINTINE'S PROPOSAL.
The proposal of Dr yalintin©, In-spector-General of Hospitals, that the whole of the probationary nursing staff of the Wairarapa. district should, bo controlled by the Masterton Hospital, has been approved by the South, Wairarapa, Pabiatua, and Masterton Hospital Committees, together with, the medical 'officers of .Masterton.. and the Matron of the. Masterton Hospital. The matter came up for discussion at the meeting of the Wairarapa Hospital and Charitable Aid Board yesterday. Mr Fisher expressed the. opinio™ that the proposal, in the meantime, applied only to probationary nurses. The Chairman stated that it was intended that all future appointments of nurses should be made from Masterton. Several members expressed 1 the opinion, that the proposal of Dr Valintine was- a good one. On the motion of Mr Welch,' seconded by Mr.Cornelius, it was. decided that the proposal made by Dr Valintine in connection with the nursing staffs ibe adopted.
