TROOPS FOR TRIPOLI. INTENTIONS OF ITALY. (Received Last Night, 10.55 o'clock.) ROME, October 3. ■Forty thousand troops wiil sail for Tripoli' in throe divisions on. the Bth, 9th. and 10th October. Signer GioHtti proposed to administer Tripoli as/ an Italian Province, similar to France's administration, of Algeria.
A REPORT CONTRADICTED. NO TROOPS LANDED AT PREVEZA. (.Received Last Nigh*, 10.55 o'clock.) October 3. The landing of Italian troops at i J reveza is officially denied. There is no intention of landing troops, except at Tripoli and Cyrenaioa. ' Naval operations will be exclusively directed to protecting the Italian coast and shipping from Turkish raids.

THE SUNK TORPEDOERS. ONLY SMALL CRAFT. (Received. Last Night, 10.55 o'clock.) CONSTANTINOPLE, Oct, 3. It is explained that the torpedoers. sunk, at Provteza. were only small 150 ton vessels, which, carried onepounder gums for use against smugglers.
- I SULTAN AT THE SHRINE. GERMANY'S SUGGESTION. (Received Last Night, 10.55 o'clock.) CONSTANTINOPLE, Oct. 3. The Sultan, spends hours daily at different shrines. He holds frequent audiences with, the Gen-man Ambassador, who, it is .understood, advocates the cession of Tripoli to Italy, th* Kaiser undertaking that Italy, will -give■ adequate compensation.

TURKISH REVENUE CUTTERS. SEIZED AT SOUTHAMPTON. Received This Morning, 12.50 .o'clock. LONBON, October 3. The Southampton Customs, officials have taken possession of four Turkis!!: revenue cutters, Imiilt at Thornycroft's yards.
REFUGEES AT MALTA. IN A PITIABLE CONDITION. SOME GO BAYING MAD. (Received Las* Night, 9.20 o'clock.) MALTA, October 3. The .steamer Castle Grath h«s ar-
rived from Tripoli with twelve hundred refugees. They were huddled together on the deck for three days in a. continuous storm of rain, and they .suffered terribly from 'seasickness. Owing to being witliout cargo, the steamer pitched horribly, and the refugees were repeatedly thrown to the decks. Seven, went raying mad as a result of their experiences, while the minds of others were unhinged. The .majority are pennilesis. ■Many fell on their knees, imploring aid from journalists and officials boarding the Castle Gratia. They clamoured for food and water, holding up enumerated children. The refugees stated that an infuriated, mob of Arabs and Turks besieged the Italians in their Consulate, until a battalion of Turkish infantry escorted them to the Castle Grath, whence, the Admiral transferred the Italian refugees to another ship, owing to the crowded condition of the former.
ARABS TO BE ORGANISED. BY ENVER BEY. (Received Last Night, 9.20 o'clock.) BERLIN, October 3. Enver Bey, Military Attache of Turkey in. Germany, who has been recalled to Constantinople, isaid, in an interview, that he expected to be isent to Tripoli, via l Egypt, to organise the Arabs. These fanatical anti-European tribes, if properly organised aJid led by capable mmmander,s, would offer an almost indefinite, resistance. Enver Bey expects moral support from tlie Senussi tribesmen, and active aid from the desert Tauregs, who are particularly suited to guerilla warfare. Tripoli town is> untenable, but the troops could.! garrison several forts in the hinterland.
CONFLICTING REPORTS. NO BOMBARDiMEiNT OF TRIPOLI (Received October 3, 10.20 a.m.)
LONDON, October 2. The war news is conflicting. The Italian Embassy here denies that tliere have been, bombardments of Adriatic .ports, or that Italian troops have been landed anywhere except at Tripoli. Tripolitan palssengers who have reached Sicily isay there was no bombardment of Tripoli up to 8 o'clock on Saturday night.

The town was then evacuated, and the garrison is now preparing defences in the hills.
CONSTANTINOPLE, Oct. 2. It is officially stated that sixteen hundred. Italians have landed at Prevoza and that they have destroyed the forts.

•burg correspondent states that Russia has protested against the Turkish concentration of troops on the Thess-i alian frontier.
TORPEDOER LOST. CAPTAIN KILLED AND EIGHT DROWNED. (Received October.3, 9.10 a.m.) ROME, October 2. One of the torpedoers at Preveza was lost. Hie captain was killed by o shell. Eight men we drowned.

ROME, October 2. The Turkish transport Sabah, with troops for Tripoli, was captured and hrought to Brindisi. Advices from Corfu state that two Turkish destroyers ha've been sunk and another captured. The police at Piraeus have arrested the crew of a. Turkish sailer whiph was suspected of being about to ship arms for Tripoli.
