Mr and Mi's A. W. Sedcole, who, ; accompanied by Miss Sedcole, havo been on an extended visit to the Old Country, have returned to the' Dominion, and are expected back in Pahiatua towards the end of the present, week. \ The friends of Mr A W. Hogg, M.P., will be pleased to learn that '. he has sufficiently recovered from his illness to be able to take a drive. He hopes to be able to visit Mastenton in a few days' time. A very old settler of Stratford — Mr R. away on Wednesday morning somewhat suddenly, at the age of 79 years. The late Mr Kirkpatrick was foreman to ±!li© old Ngaere Road Board, .and subsequently to the Stratford Town Board. The death occurred in Sydney on September 20th of Mrs' Mary Kathline Walsh, eldest daughter of the late Mr E. M. Carruthers, of Wellington, and grand-daughter of the late Colonel Carruthers. The deceased lady, who was seventy years of age, was a sister of Mrs G. York, of . Masterton.
