SOWMAN—HARDING.
The wedding was oelebrtated at the residence of the tutide''s parents, •Walton Avenue, Kurdpnni, yesterday, of Miss Rosina E. Handing, daughter of Mr F. ,T. Harding, to Ms< Ghas.. E. Sowman, of WangaInui, foremlnly of iMasterton. The •"bride, who wias given a,way by her (brother, Mr H. Harding, was prettily attired iai a orieam costume, .wfiit'h a oreaan satin hat and ositridh feathers. She lallso ca«rried a 6'h.ower bouIquet of cream daffodils.. There were four bridesmaids, Miss E. Harding, wlio wore a white silk dress with silk trimmings and Mack hat; .Miss F. 'Bar ding, in white sa/tin; Mi sis E. 'Sowman, in caieam, with black hat trimmed cvrath cream ros&s; and Miss Jones, of Masterton, who was attired the same as Mass Sowman. All four of the bridesmaids carried shower bouquets of cream .daffodils and Herns. Mr J. Harding was best man, and Mr W. Hkrding groomsman. Tlie ceremony wias performed by tthe Rev. ,S. J. Serpen.
. A reception was held subsequently, wiben a large number of relatives and friends w*ere entertained by the' bride's mother..
Mr and Mrs Sowman. leave by the express to-day for Wanganui, where their future home will be.
SMITH-SHEARER,
A pretty wedding was celebrated at Knox Chiureh, Masteirton, 'yesterday, the contracting parties being Mass Ethel Smith, daughter of Mr S. Smith, of Church Street. a.nd Mr James Shearer,'of Messr© Hugo and (Shearer, of Masterton, and son of Mir SUifianer, of Wellington,. The bride, who mas given awlay by her father, was' attired in a beautiiful dress of .cream, Oriental l satin, and ths> wtore tlbe ortthodox veil aaid orainge blossoms. She (also carried a eh'ower bouquet. Miss- Nellie Smith, sister of tha bracta, and Miss Shearer, sister of the bridegroom, attended as bridesmaids. They were dressed in cream silk and wore cream, crinoline hats with pink satin rosies, and carried ,shk>wer bouquets. Mr R. E. Williams was best man, and Mr Sid Ganiith.was groomsimiain. The Rev. A. fl\ Thompson pierlfprmied thle ceremony, and Mr PurceM Webb officiated alt the origan. ' The guests' were aiflterwards entertained at a wedding break/fast at l the residence of the. bride's parents, when, the usual .toasts were honoured and congratulatory speeches made.
Mr and Mrs Shearer left by the •afternoon train for Wellington, en •route for Auckland and Rotor.ua, where the honeymoon will be spent.
