TRADE IN MASTERTON
THE INSPECTOR'S REPORT.
The following report of the Masrer- ; tool Inspector of Factories appears ;in the Journal of the Department of Labour for September : Ihiring the mon.tli just ended trade and business have maintained n fairly satisfactory level. The majority of trades, imore, particularly the ouilding trade, have assumed an air of briskness, and carpenters, bricVayers and stone masons are in demand. The various butter and rhoese factories are now beginning to prepare for the supply of the coming seasoo, whieh will .be welcomed in-* general throughout the district, owing to the increased and regular employment it affords to workers. Rather : r.re than the usual amount of agricultural farming is being carried on this year, so = that, plbughlrrien have been-; In very fair , demand. The textile trades liave, exp&rienced/ a fair month, no tailors, taitore&ses or dressmlakersr having been reported idle. Business generally is reporod rather better than usual.
