THE COST OF LIVING.
Is it possible- for a Rloyial OommEission to discover reasons, at present unfedowui .to Parliamentarians, for 'the ■ increase in the cost of living in New Zealand? "If it is, winy was such, a Commission not set up years ago ? If it is not iwhat justification can there Ibe for'so expensive a luxury? Let the Government discontinue spoon-feed-ing' tlhe people. Let it discontinue pandering to the cla&ses. Let it encourage Smdiviidual enterprise and individual exertion. Let it abandon the wholesale traffiicking En votes, and return to a .system of government by principle instead l of expediency. Then will the barometer of commerce adjust toolf and the right to live be conceded to.all. The setting up of a. Royal Commission is frierel ytrifling with -the question. ' -
