The kills and voleys of the Englishmen were especially brilliant. To-day's closing matches went through four sets. McLaughlin beat Dixon, B—6, 3—6, 6—3, B—2. Lamed defeated Lowe, B—3,8 —3, I—6,1 —6, 7—5, 6 —l. McLaughlin smashed Dixen in,a moat spectacular fashion. In the last set he held the Englishman 4to love before the latter scored a single game. His speed at the net won the game.
