EFFECT OF TIDAL WAVE.
(Received- September 14, 9.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, September 14. The captain of the steamer Knight of Saint George, writing to the agents on September Ist, states that he salved £IO,OOO worth of cargo. If the weather held,\he said he would probably land all. the general cargo within a week. He attributes the disaster to volcanic disturbances causing a tidal wave, which sent the vessel nine miles out and ahead pf her course in an hour and a half.
