[To The TS.ltor.~l i Sir, —As a visitor to your town., ! after an absence of seven years, I wasi surprised to see so wonderful improvements. Your town is a. credit to your Councillors in every way— , good eights and weill kept streets. In my travels I have not seen, a better 'kept street than your Queen Street, and what I see of the town it seems to be in a flourishing condition. We, tUiiree hundred miles away, .Tuena* a great deal of Masterton and tne closing of the' hotels; but from what I see- it does not seem -that trade its going back. Building in all' diireotdons ore ispringing up, and fine buildings they are. I wondered if prohibition had been ruination; but Itttuat does not seeim so.. Speaking to business peopiLe, I am 'told a good yean - is before them, and they have no cause to eoimp3ain. We hear of your 'town, foeing half emprty, and on the down grade*; bufc those who take a flying visit this way do not 'find tQiings as <som© people have painted. I hope next /time I am in Maeterton to see more closer settlement, and a, good ibrid'ge across "to Lansd'owme, which, when, finished', will improve that ,pa.rt.
