MASTERTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Masterton School Committee was heM. last evening, there being present— Messrs R. Brown (chairman), Chapman, Hendry, Thompson, E. Pragnell, Hughes, Perry, and Wiaddington. An apology for absence was received from Mr G. Hyde. The Treasurer reported a credit balance at date of £44 16s 6d. ; Accounts amounting to * £29 13s were passed for payment. An application from the Solway Recognition Comlmdttee for a halfholiday for the school for the date of the picnic. (Octtober sth) was referred to the chairman and headmiaster. N An application, firomi the solioololeaner (Mr York) for increased pay and a free'house, was referred to a committee of "the whole. A letter was read from the secretary of the Education Board, covering a repHy from the Education Department in regard to the asseimhdy hall.— This was referred to the committee as. a whole, which is to meet at the school on Monday morning and Tuesday evening nest. The report of the headmaster .was. read and received. .. Messrs Ptagnell, TiHampson and , Waddington were appointed visiting I. members for the ensuing month.
