FIRE ON THE PAPANUI

EMIGRANTS LANDED. (Received September 13, 8.5 a.m.) ST. HELENA, Sept. 12. The siteamer Papanui arrived here with her bunkers afire. The emigrants have been landed and the cargo is now being discharged. A FIVE DAYS' FIGHT. SECOND OUTBREAK. (Received September 13, 9.30 a.m.) ST. HELENA, Sept. 12.;■ The officers and crew of the Papanui were occupied for five days in extinguishing a first fire in the bunkers. Another fire broke out after passing St. Helena, upon which the captain decided to return. The vessel is moored close to shore. The male immigrants are housed in the barracks, and the women in the military hospital.
