OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT (Received September 13, 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Sept 12. Archbishop Clarke has officially announced that a conference of the Anglican, Presbyterian, Methodist-, and Congregational Churches has arrived at a general agreement on the subject of doctrine, which points to the possibility of union so far as that is concerned. The subject of Church government and policy was discussed, but deferred for further consideration.
