FOOD RIOTS.
(Received September 7, 9.15 a.m.) PARIS, September 6. The prompt arrest of the leaders in several of the disturbed areas is repressing the ardour of the dear food rioters. 1 Workmen at Fougeres compelled shopkeepers to sell at prices fixed by the Labour Exchange. A mob at St. Quentin stoned firemen who- were extinguishing an incendiary grain store fire. Troops charged the mob, severely injuring several rioters. A bricklayer was caught setting fire to an adjoining granary.
