MASTERTON HOMING CLUB
THE COMING SEASON,
The members of the Masterton Homing Pigeon Club have already commenced the active training of their birds, in view of the opening of the old bird races on October 6th. The races will be from Ohakune on the north programme, and Wellington on the south. Training tosses have already taken place from both north and south, and the birds are getting into splendid form. With the ambitious programme the Club is undertaking this year, the members should have a good season's sport. The programme includes a race from Invercargill, which is the longest distance yet attempted. Dunedin has twice been successfully flown, and with the number of seasoned birds how in the members' possessions, the Invercargill race ought not to prove impossible. Some valuable trophies have been offered, and it is anticipated that all the competitions will be keenly contested.
