MINISTER FOR EDUCATION.
The resignation of the Hon. G. FowMs wiM naturally ci'eate some anxiety as to who, will fill the important portfolio of Minister for Education. None of the present Ministers, with the- exception, perhaps, of Sir John Frindky, haye the qualifications! for ,the position. The cihlanoes are, therefore, that the portfolio 'will be offered to a private member. Who will that member be? Is there a .member on the Government side of -the House, other than Mr Hogg, ,wto (has ani acquaintance with educational matters which qualifies Mm for the position ? It .would be rather a delicate matter, at this stage, to invite Mr Hogg back into the fold.. And so the Government muist look elsewhere. Possibly Ma' T. M. Wiliford 1 , or Mi' Laurenson, mlay be the select.
