JOHNSONVILLE STOCK SALE

JOHNSONVILLE, Last Night

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnsonville sale as follows: —We ofFered ia good yarding of prime sheep and cattle, which sold readily at the following prices:— Prime heavy bullocks, £ll 2s 6d to £ll 15s, and £lO 10s to £lO 15s; medium bullocks, £9 17s 6d to £lO ss; prime heavy wethers, 22s to 22s 4d; good wethers, £1 Os 4d to 21s; light, 9s od; prime ewes, 19s 3d to 20s.

MASTERTON STOCK SALE

SHARE MARKET.

I Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held their usual weekly sale in (the Solward yards (Masterton) yesterday, when tihey offered a very small yarding of both sheep and cattle, which met with good competition, and a clearance is reported at prices rig|ht up to late rates. Quotations are as follow: —Woolly hoggets, to 12s sd; extra good hoggets, to 13s lid; 12-month steers and heifers, 365; forward cows, £3 10s; 2-year empty hoifers, £3 Is to £3 7s 6d ; 18-months bull, to'£4l/ '

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows :-KEhe entry in ewes, ; with one exception, were inferior sorts. Hoggets were well represented, but prices showed no improvement, a fact mainly due to the .backward growth of grass. In cattle all classes were represented, good sorts selling, but bad class were difficult to quit. In breeding ewes a specially good line of 4 and 6-tooth reached 17s; medium hoggets, 10s 6d; dairy cows in profit, £6; backward sorts, £4 to £5; yearling steers, 45s to 555; calves, 27s 6d; young bulls, £3 to £4; store cows, good condition, £3 10s.
