INQUIRY TO BE HELD

WELLINGTON, Last Night,
The sustained vigilance of a large number of police officers has so far brought no material development in the matter of the escaped prisoner, Joseph Pawelka. { Up to date no reward has been offered for, Pawelka's re-oapture. The Commissioner of Police (Mr F. Waldegrave) states that a Departmental inquiry will be held into the circumstances of the escape. Such inquiry, it is understood, will include an investigation of the present condition of the Terrace Gaol as a prison.
