THE SPEAKER'S SEVERITY,
(Received Last Night, 11.5 o'clock.) SYDNEY, August 29. Parliament met to-day. ■ Several of the Opposition remainel seated when the Speaker entered, and others rose. Mr Wado drew attention to a report in Hansard. The Speaker immediately ordered him to resume his seat. Mr Perry, ex-Minister for Agriculture, angrily left the chamber, calling loyal members to follow him. As he did not bow to the Speaker, a sergeant-at->arms was directed to bring him back. Mr Wood, ex-Chief Secretary, defied the Speaker, and was removed amidst a scene of violent disorder. Shortly after Mr Fitzpatrick was ordered to withdraw a statement and apologise to the speaker. He said: "I will withdraw if I must, and apologise if the statement needs one." . Mr Willis promptly ordered a sergeant to remove the member, which wais done, amidst further uproar.
