THE MISSING MAN.

A number of more or less 'extravagant istories have (bean in circulation in Masterton during tbe last few dayis concerning the- missing man James Kingdon. These have been so obviously ridiculous that mo same person, would give tthem the slightest credence. So fair as' this paper is concerned, it has studiously avoided giving pain to the wounded feelings of the aged parent and the family, by referring publicly to these outrageous istotemonte. It- is a pity that any person can be found. who would invent them. When any clue is obtained as to the whereabouts' of the missing man— if such clue should ever be forthcoming—the Age will be quick to advise the public.
