MASTERTON STOCK SALE.

Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report <as follows on their Masterton .stock sale, held in the Sol way yards, yesterday:—We yarded only one pen of wethers and a few.pens'of dairy cattle, all of which found purchasers at satisfactory prices. We also offered a herd of dairy cows at the conclusion of the sale, for which there was good competition, particularly for early carvers, which sold from £7 to £8 16s; more backward ones, £4 15s to £6 15s. Quotations: —Small wethers, lis; springing heifers, good, £6.17s 6d; springing cows, £4 to £5; bulls, up to £5 16s; good dairy cows, as quoted above.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report:— Entries in sheep were confined to breeding ewes and hoggets. The ewes were not first-class, and failed to reach owners' reserves. Hoggets were in better demand, all selling under the hammer at a slight advance upon last market rates. In cattle we offered dairy stock, stores and calves, all making ready sales at sound prices. Medium breeding ewes were passed at 103 6d, hoggets selling at lis. Extra good dairy cows, up to £10; medium,

£6; backward sorts, £4; forward cows, £4 ss; 38-months steers, £3 9s; calves, small, 25».

Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report :—We offered a small yarding of sheep, but a fair yarding of cattle. Competition for all torts was fairly keen, and we are pleased to report practically a clearance. Amongst the cattle entry was a line of 28 station cows, in only fair condition, which realised £3 9s. Other quotations were as follows: —Poor conditioned store cows, 365; forward cowsi £3 3s to £3 16s; 2-year steers, £3 12s; 2year heifers, £2 10s to £3; mixed weaners, 33s 6d; bull, £4 12s 6d. Sheep : F.m. ewes in lamb, 10s ; empty ewes, 9s to 9s Id; 2,4 and 6-tooth wethers (low condition), 10s; 2 and 4tooth wethers, 12s 6d.

PAHIATUA STOCK SALE

Messrs Abraham and Williams. Ltd., report as follows:—We offered a good yarding of sheep and a full yarding of cattle. All classes of sheep were in keen demand, everything selling practically under the hammer. Cattle were represented principally by dairy stock, vvihich sold well, good dairy heifers selling up to £9. Quotations :—Fair 2-tooth breeding ewes, 12s 6d ito 14s lOd; mixed aged breeding ewes, 15s Id to 16s 4d; good hoggets, 12s 6d to 14s 6d; others, 9s to Us 7d; light fat ewes, 12s to 13s 6d; empty 2-tooth ewes, Us sd; Jersey heifers, springing, £6 17s 6d to £9; good Shorthorn cross heifers, £5 17s 6d to £6 10s; Holstein cross heifers, £6 10s; others, £5 2s od to £5 10s; good dairy cows, to £7; cows i in calf, £3 15s to £4 7s 6d; 18-month steers, £3 17s 6d. ,
