WORKERS' DWELLINGS.
The Government is- doing good service in. providing the workers of the Dominion: witli .suitable dwellings at reasonable rentals. It- is (neither here nor there that the suggestion came originally from the Opposition. A good many of the cmaetmeaits which have been placed upoai. the Statute Book in recent years .have original ted 011 the Opposition, .benches. The workers' dwellings scheme is an excellent one, if it is carried out in, a proper .manner. A reasonable objection .was pointed out in the House by Mr Luke yesterday, and that is the aggregating of workers in particular localities, and thus creating class distinctions. This might ;be overcome if the Minister ; were to purchase individual building allotments instead of (blocks of land as at present.
