KURIPUNI METHODIST CHURCH
ANNIVERSARY SERVICES. Anniversary services in connection •with the Kuripund Methodist Church were conducted on Sunday. A special feature of the services was the /singing of several anthems 'by an augmented choir, under the baton of Mr W. Rigg, among the items rendered 'being "Praise God from AVhom," "Oh, Come, let us Worship," and "Raise on High the Lofty Song." In the morning the pulpit was occupied by the Rev. J. E. Parsons, wihose talk toi the children' concerned "Four 'Friends—Sabbath, Sanctuary, Scriptures, and Saviour," the value of each in. life's battle being outlined in; a manner tbat appealed to young and old. In his address to the adults the preacher dealt with the relationship esi sting. between Christ and the Church, and the necessity for each imember to realise his individual responsibility in purifying the Church. The power of love was emphasised and the hope expressed that the Methodist congregation, at Kuripuni would become a power for good in the community. The evening service was concluded by the Rev. S. J. Serpell, whose vigorous address, based on the text, "Be sure your sin' will find you out," made a marked impression on those present. Punishment for sin, said the speaker, is sure —if not in this world, then in. the next. The preacher closed with the glad promise to those who >seek deliverance—"Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow." /
