A meeting of the Directors of the Ivaiparoro Ctac.ero Company was held last Wednesday. There was a full attend aiieo. Two directors, Messrs Harvey and Crookenden, retired by effluxion of time, ar.d an election, to fil ltheir places will take place'at the annual meeting, which is to be held oni. the 28th of this month. On the evening of that date the Dirofcois intend giving their annual ball - an event'wihich is looked forward \o with much interest. The bachelors of the district intend having their ball at an. early date, so there is quito. a season of gaiety near at hand. CARTERTON. The Carterton, branch of the Wairarapa'Egg Circle yesterday morning sent anvay 280. dozen eggs, and the Masterton, branch 830 dozen, making a grand total of 1110 dozen.. On. Monday next, the Dalefield and Taraitahi Dairy Companies will reopen for the season. Mr P. Macnamara, of Carterton, who was foreman for Messrs Scott Bros, when they carried out the waterworks contract here, left for Marton, yesterday, having again joined the ( staff of Messrs Scott Bros., who have secured .the contract for the Morton sewerage works. The Carrington: School Committee have appointed Mr 6. E. Allen as chairman, Mr H. Clarkson. and iMr I). Andersen secretary. The match between the Carter r,on amd Grey town Golf Clubs, played on Saturday afternoon on Oarrington Links, resulted in a victory for Grcvtown by six games to four.
