OBESITY.
A remarkable cure for obesity is leported by the Lancet as having just been brought before the. medical profession, in Paris. According to this
report, a. steady and safe diminution of woiglit is said to bo possible, «.<;- cording ito a recently propound.xl theory, although individuals concerned may still be allowed to eat and drink as much as tihey desire. At first sight this seems paradoxical, butt when one examines the new method a little more, closely it appears to have been very cleverly ithaught out, as its author relies on actually diminishing the appetite by encouraging his patients to take many small meals during the day. According to the Lancet, they "take five meals a day, but only light .snacks, with a little hot drink; after each meal he prescribes a walk for half an hour. He recommends a salad dressed with lemon, and the eating cdf very little farinaceous material, little sleep, and early rising."
