NIREAHA.
In spit© of rather heavy rain, somo fifty isettlors assembled in the Hali on Thursday evening to hear a political address by Mr A. H. Herbert. At its conclusion a hearty vote of thanks, was accorded th& speaker. Mr W. Waimrright, the lease of ■whose property expires on the Ist prox., has purchased a farm in the neighbourhood of Ballanee, and will ibe leaving here at the end of the mionth. He and Mrs Wainwright will he greatly missed in Nirealia. Mr Shirley, who three weeks ago liad the misfortune to meet with an accident 'whilst working in the bush, which necessitated the amputation of one of his legs, is well enough to Ibe again out of doors. A few lambs are to be seen. in. this district now, and their owners are congratulating themselves on sthe favourable weather. The annual meeting of the cheese factory is to he held on the 31st, and the factory will re-open two' days following.
