WAIRARAPA RUGBY UNION
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE.
The fortnightly meeting of the above Union was held at Carterton en Saturday evening, -Mr A. B. Charters presiding. Correspondence r;c.fs received:— '.. From- Wellington Rugby Union., stating that the only Saturdays available for a match with Wairarapa at Wellington were the 16th and 23rd of September.— Decided to play on the 16th September provided a match can be arranged (for Haiwke's Bay for Saturday, the 9th, at Wairarapa, as otherwise jit would ibe impossible to keep ithe team in- training till tho later date. Prom the Manawatu Rugby Union, notifying that they would play in tho Wairarapa on. Saturday, 26th Angus*. — Decided that the imatch be played at Masierton, and that a list of available referees he sent to Manawatu Union. ' •
From Wanganui Rugby Union, in reply to Wairarapa Union's request that the match owing by them be played on a Thursday or Saturday, stating that the only day they could meet Wairarapa would he on a Wednesday, and that therefore the match would have to be dropped for this season.
From the Liberal Club, stating that the applications of J. and G. Te Whiti for transfer ito the Greytown Club were not approved by them. The Greytown Club also wrote in. reference to the matter. Decided, after going fully into the .matter, that the conditional transfers granted he cancelled.
From Liberal Club, lodging a chal-'j lenge/for the Pearson Cup.— Decict- | ed to notify the present holders (Red j Stair Club) and ask that a- daite be! agreed upon. '! -• rom various Olubs, enclosing doctors' certificates and declaring the following players on the insurance fund:— C. Gallon (Dalefield), J. Basr kiville (Greytown), E. Boyd (Masterton), G. Juno (Liberal), declared off the fluid. It was decided to write, to the Horowhe-n.ua Rugby Union, asking if /they could arrange, to play a match with Wairarapa this season.
It was decided that the members of both the Wellington and Wairarapa school representative teams be issued passes for the match Manawatu v. Wairarapa, at Mastenton, next Saturday, and also that they ibe provided with a drag. It was resolved to suggest Saturday, September 9th, to Hawke's Bay Union, if they intend'to visit Wairarapa this season.
The Greytown third-class team were fined £1 Is for failing to notify the Union, re forfeiting a match. The Ti-easurer reported a credit balance to date of £B2.
Accounts amounting to £9 3s 3d were passed for payment.
