N.S.W. POLITICS.
As the fate of the Labour Party in New South Wales depends upon the result of the by-elections'just being held, and as it is clear that the Liberals have won at least one of the two seats, it is morally certain that the McGowen Ministry will have to appeal to the country. It would seem that neither party has a working majority, and a dissolution is inevitable. The surprise to a great- many people is that, with the parties so evenly divided, the Governor did not grant a dissolution when the crisis recently arose, and thereby have,* saved a deal of expense.
