MR JENNINGS' BILL. Under iMr Jennings' Gaming Amendment (Bill, which is understood to have the isuipport of ithe Government. the Minister of Internal Affairs would have power to grant the totalisator .permits each ann'.ia'ly to '.the (following Racing Clubs: — Alexandra, Ashlfumt-Poli angiii a, HorowJiemia Hack, Kaikoura, Lower Valley, Maniototo, North Canterbury, Ohoka-iEyreton, iPahiatua, Patea, Rangitikei, Taieri Amateur, Waitara, Waipawa, Waihi, and Westport. The J6ill also proposes to empower the (Minister to grant on© License annually to the Rangitikei Oluib, and one to the Marton Club. The Commission recommended no licenses for Rangitikei and two for Marton, whereas Rangitikei lias hitherto had two and (Marton one.
