THE COMING ELECTIONS. OPPOSITION PLATFORM. (Received August 16, p.m.) OTTAWA, August 15. The Conservative platform has been issued for the coming elections. Its mam planks are: — Reform of puWlic expenditure and removal of present extravagances; Granting the right over natural resources to the prairie provinces; Construction of the Hudson Bay railway, its operation to be under an independent commission; Encouragement of the chilled meat ; industry; Establishment of a permanent Tariff Commission; Liberal grants for improvement of agriculture; To maintain the independence of the Canadian Parliament in its own affairs, but seeking to find the highest ideal in tho autonomous development of Canada as a nation within the Empire.
