BOROUGH FOOTPATHS.

WORK TO BE DONE.

At last night's meeting of the Masterton 'Borough Council, the Town Clerk reported, in connection with the formation of a footpath on the north .side of Victoria Street, as | follows: To curb, channel and. as* | ipha-lt the path would cost £2OO, to curb and channel and prepare for tar and sand would coat £l4O, while to simply form the path ready to receive tar >and sand would cost £25. He added that in his opinion it would be much wiser to spend the whole £3OO on one street and mate a satisfactory job, than, to .spend £lO here and £2O there on, works that are not of a permanent nature.
