THE SUGAR STRIKE
TERMS OF SETTLEMENT.
GENERAL SATISFACTION EXPRESSED.

BRISBANE, August 15
The terms of the agreement arrived at bv the Conference are 30s per week and keep. The overtime rate is time and a quarter. Forty-eight hours is to constitute a week, and 110 vindictive spirit must be shown towards the strikers. , It was agreed that it be a recommendation to employers and employees in the various districts to meet and endeavour to arrange a mutually satisfactory agreement for next season as far as pocsible uniform throughout tho State. General satisfaction is expressed at the settlement of the strike. Tho Conference met at noon, and shortly afterwards the Press were admitted and handled the agreement.
