h THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.
A crowded house greeted the change of programme at the .Foresters' Hall last evening, when a particularly fine series of pictures were shown. f Among the, dramas were three dealing with,, life in the Wild West—favourite cowboy, Indian and mining dramas. "Tlie Edge of tlie Desert'' was a typical Indian study abounding with thrilling ' scenes, while "Ljiich Law" was decidedly popular,, being a stirring cowboy drama. In '•Queen of Hearts" the audience had a very pretty and rp- . mantis, subject..dealing with life in a. imining caimp.. "Seth's Temptation" was a splendid picture abounding in. exciting- incidents, the scenery being superb. In the scenic section, "Solomon Isles" -was a very pretty Pathe Freres study in natural colours; "Winter Harbour Traffic in Stockholm" depicted some pretty snow and ice -scenes, and in "A Visit to Berlin'' patrons saw daily life in the capital of Germany. Comedy was a strong feature of the programme, and some excellent pictures were screened, the best ones being "A Bridegroom's Di-' Inuna" (a Vitagraph), L'Right in I •Front of Father" and "' AObllege;! Chicken" (an Essanay). A number; of other first-class pictures were presented, including one of the Coronation naval review. Splendid music was rendered by the T.-P. orchestra. The programme, which is one of the best shown by the firm, ,wUI be screened again, this evening.
