The "North Island country team met and vanquished tho South Island country team to-day. The game was not a spectacular one, and resolved itself intfr a series of scrambles, with one or two occasional flashes. The Northerners, prevailed to t'lie extent of 18 points to 3, though the difference in the score did not indicate the relative imeritrv of the teams. o'Gonnor (2) and Darby scored for the victors. McKenzie converted two tries and kicked a penalty. For the losers, O'Brien kicked two penalty goals.
