MARSEILLES, August 10.

The Emir, which came into collision with the Silverton near Gibraltar, sank immediately. There were no English or American passengers on board. Most of thor:o drowned were Moroccan labourers.

The Silverton lowered three boats, ■but was only able to save twelve of ■(he Emir's crew, and fifteen passengers who were on dock.
