HIGH SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
MONTHLY MEETING.
The monthly meeting of the Masterton District High School Committee was held list night, therebeing present:— Messrs E. H. Waddington (in the chair), A. Hendry, C. Perry, G-. Hyde, E. Pragnell, and J. L. Hughes. An apology for absence was received from the chairman (Mr R. Brown). The Headmaster (Mr W. H, Jackson) reported, inter alia, as follow®: —Attendance.— Main School: Roll 635, average attendance 588; percentage of attendance 93; Side School: 169, 152, 90; Secondary Classes: 5.9,, 55, 93. The attendyance has now quite recovered after the measles epidemic, and is, for a winter period, in a very Ba-tsa'aotory state. The accompanying absentee ■report contains the namesi of one or two unsatisfactory cases.— The report- was adopted. The Treasurer reported receipts since last meeting £23 15s, expenditure £9 12s, credit at date £l4 2s 4d.
Accounts, totalling £4l 15s Id were passed for payment as funds permit. The visiting members for the month will be Messrs Hughes, Hyde and Perry. ?
