SOLWAY RECOGNITION FUND.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the general committee, which was formed sobib month® ago £or the purpose of taking steps to raise funds to recognise an some tangible manner the pmblio-spirited-ness of the members of the Committee of the Masterton A. and P. Association in obtaining the excellent showigrounds at Solway, "was. held, last night. The chair was occupied by His Worship the Mayor (Mr J. M. Coradine). The recommendation of the " subcommittee to hold a monster picnic wiftth athletoc and horse events was adopted. It was proposed to hold the funcitiiora on or about the last Thursday in September. A committee consisting of -Messra J. Bradhury (convener), R. F. Crosim, J. Bryor, J.. Georgeson, X A. Mc-viS..-Ai '. .Noile* Oanipbell, j; Ocradine junr., and A; D. ' \ ' It/was decided to endeavour to arrange for a footiball match to be played on some Saturday afternoon ■prior to- tlie picnic, with a view to adding to .the funds. Messrs 0. J. MackeHar, R. ¥. Crosbde, and J. Bradbury were given power to act im the matter. The next general meeting is to be held on Tuesday, 22nd inst.
