PALMERSTON N., Last Night. The Maori team played ManawatuHorowhenua oai a dry ground and in fin© weather, to-day. Play was fast all through, and at times brilliant. The first two scores wore from penalty kicks for ofF-side, Rogers placing a goal for the Maoris, and Rawiri for 'the local -team. No further scores wore registered before half time. On resuming, Kaipara finished a fine combined .attack with a try, Rogers converting. Shortly after Codyne scored for Mcmawatu. "Then Rogers placed another goal from a mark, and next Hapu scored for Manawatu, Rawiri converting.—' Eleven all. Finally Erekana scored the winning try for the Maoris, the final scores being Maoris 14, Manawatu 11.
