LEGISLATIVE COUNCILLORS.
Speaking in the Legislative Council yesterday, the Hon. J. E. JenMfison expressed .regret at the circumstances, which had led to the retirement of Mr T. E. Macdonald from the Council, but he said thai if Mr . MaicdionaJLd's example' were followed by one.other member, the xm>ioriiy of tihe Council would be pleased. He .might have added that the country would also have been: pleased. But he didn't. Then Mr Jenkinson himself might be missing. And that would be a calamity. <
