STEEPLECHASE MEETING.

The annual steepleohiaise meeting of the Woodlands Hunt took ,place.o« the Pahiatua racecourse .yesterday.' The weather conditions were not [favourable in the- morning, but as the dny advanced the sun shone out, .and the result was a very fair .attendance. The officials worked well, ;and the energetic secretary, Mr Arnold Weston, had all the arrangements well in hand. The results are as follow:

MEMBERS' HANDICAP FLAT ' RACE, one mile. Mrs BottomiLey';& Lady Scott, 10.7 (Mr R. Bottomley) 1 Miss Kemp's Pukeroa, 11.3 (Mr G. Buchanan) 2 Miss Arrow's Sensation, 10.7 (Mr G. Main) 3 Also started—• Lord Ullin/ and Marima. Time, 2min. Good race, woa by threequarters of a length. WOODLANDS HUNT STEEPLECHASE HANDICAP, of 25sovs., about two miles and a half. Mr J. L. Buiok's Flying Cloud, 11.7, (Mr A. Buick) 1 Mr P. MeCormick's Belvoir, 11.0 (Owner) 2 Mr J. Sweeney's Silver Shell, 11.0 : •\ (Mr J. Flanagan) 3 Also started— Atanui. Flying Cloud won easily.
