THE APPEAL COURT.

WELLINGTON, Last Night. In the Appeal Court case, Lucena v. the National Mutual Insurance Co., the court reserved its judgment. The Court is now occupied with the hearing of the appeal by Oliver Mewhinney, against the decree giving the custody of his children to Mrs Mewhinney. The case arose out or divorce proceedings. Mewhinncy is conducting his appeal personally, and MiGray is appearing for Mrs Mewhinney.

AUCKLAND WHARF PILLIGING

AUCKLAND, Last Night. Another development of what is known generally as the "wharf pillaging cases," took place to-day, when Arthur Glover was arrested. Before Mr C. C. Kettle, S.M., this afternoon, he was charged (1) that on 25th April, 19.11, he forged a telegram purporting to be signed by A. Tanfield. authorising the Union , Company at Greymouth,, to deliver certain goods, to wit, five cases of drapery; (2), that on or about 30th 1 March, 1911, at.Auckland, he- stole from the wharf goods to the value of £lO7 13s, the property of Milne and Choyce. On the application of Chief-Detective Marsack, a remand was granted until Friday, when other persons alleged to be concerned in the wharf robberies will appear. Bail in one surety of £2OO vas granted, and was immediately forthcoming, the bondsman being Mr A. I<l. Glover, M.P.
