THE WAR CLOUD.
The news which has come to ha.nd during the last Sew hours is more encouraging. The report from Sydney regarding 'an ultimatum would appear to be unfoutidied. The eoal-
ing of tJie First 'Division of the British Fleet is certainly significant, butt the speech of the Right Hon. H. H. Asqiuith would, seem to hxfc relieved the tendon. The situation ds one of extreme gravity, however, and the slightest spark may kindle the highly-inflammable material into a disastrous flame. Germany is in a most excited condition just now, and any little movement by either France or Britain) may cause her to comm;t an act of war.
