The negotiations of the Pierpont Morgan combine for the .acquisition of the Shaw, Sarill line of steamers are significant. If the combine can once gerfc control of the shipping facilities, the rest is comparatively simple. The position is one whfioh sdiould immediately be iravesfbigated by the authorities in -London as wall as in New Zealand.
