BLENHEIM NOT SUFFERING ALONE.

BLENHEIM, Last Night. To-day practically ■ the only signs of the flood in the town are simoU patches of water in the low-lying portions', and damaged streets, footpath's, and river banks. Most of the bridges have been sibrained and axe unsafe for traffic. The Opa,wa River broke through the bank east of Blenheim yesterday, and flooded the farms in the Dailon's Point district, some loss of ■stock rejsiulfbing,. ; . ;Tc-<lay the- pilot at Bar imported Wairait had overflowed at the lower end, evident-ly-backed up by tlie Opawa. ' The first outside mails since Satiurd)ay were received this morning, the letter portion being conveyed by trap from Bicton. The mailman arrived with the Molesworth mails after abandoning the coach in the Awatere Valley, packing tine mail over tibe hill's. The Molesworth road is washed awiay in many places. The Railway Department hopes-to have a train through from Pioton to Blenheim to-morrow. Serious floods are reportbed in Flaxbourne district.
